Common questions

Is Charlotte's tap water hard?

No. Charlotte Water's 2025 report lists hardness at 32 mg/L (about 1.9 grains per gallon), which the USGS classifies as soft. Most Charlotte Water homes don't need a water softener.

Does Charlotte use chloramine?

Charlotte Water disinfects with free chlorine, not chloramine, according to its 2025 water quality report. A carbon filter can reduce the chlorine taste and odor if it bothers you.

Who installs the equipment?

We sell the equipment, service plans and testing. Installation is done by an independent plumbing contractor licensed in your state, under a separate agreement between you and the plumber.

How much does a system cost?

It depends on your water and your home, so we don't publish one-size-fits-all prices. Tell us about your home and we'll send a written quote for the equipment your test results actually support.
